Zelos Marchandt creates and appears in multiple art forms. Their first love in performance has been dance and physical theater- more specifically circus arts, which is quickly followed by singing. Having been trained in classical music from the age of twelve they have competed at the state level, performed coast to coast, traveled abroad and had the pleasure of working with Portland, Oregon companies and collectives such as The Portland Opera, Opera Theater Oregon, Sky Circus, Wanderlust Circus and many, many more. Zelo's early dance background was in West African along with European traditional dance training from their teens. They were both a dance and vocal company member of Obo Addy's Kukrudu and Okrapong, before Addy's death. Zelos Marchandt loves zeroing in on the human flaws in their characters and unabashedly works to find where each role lives inside the body. They also love to create multi-faceted art that appeals to the multiple ways through which humans think and process.
